Dental caries develops in case of excessive preference of acidic foods and beverages in daily life, consumption of water lacking fluoride and use of toothpaste, lack of vitamins and minerals, as well as inadequate attention to oral and dental health. Bacteria living in the mouth feed on the residues of carbohydrates in processed sugar, which is consumed excessively with modern foods, adhering to the teeth and produce acid. The acids produced over time cause tooth decay by melting and damaging the tooth enamel.

• Consuming foods with high nutritional value provides a diet rich in vitamins and minerals.
